Ferrari Dino 2010

Finally! We got word that Ferrari does indeed plan to create the Dino Concept that has been peeking its head recently. Unfortunetly there aren’t many confirmed details, but we do have some universally agreed-upon theories of Ferrari’s next major model.

One of the biggest questions about a new “budget” Ferrari is whether or not it will dilute the Ferrari brand name. Ferrari wants to sell the new model between $140,000 and $160,000 USD, and are currently trying to decide if a lower price will do just that.

Rumor has it the car will be named the “420 Dino,” bringing back the name of what some would call the most beautiful Ferrari ever made. The “420″ in the name hints at the all-new, all-aluminum 90 degree 4.2 Liter V8 producing just under the 480 horsepower that the current F430 makes. The engine will be mounted in a “front-mid” configuration, putting the engine mostly all behind the front axle; differing from both the F430 and older Dino model. In response to the new powerful V8, Ferrari says by 2008 the F430 will get the 5.0 liter V10 being developed that pushes out around 550 horsepower.}

Bugatti Veyron Super Sport

The Bugatti Veyron Super Sport has set a new production car land speed record, hitting 267mph at VW's Ehra-Lessien proving ground. 267mph. Well, 267.91mph to be precise, or 431.072km/h, thrashing the 256.23mph set by the SSC Ultimate Aero in Nevada in 2007.

You don't need us to tell you this, but that is obscenely, absurdly fast. To set the production speed record is impressive. To smash it by 11mph is astonishing.

Then again, the Veyron Super Sport is an astonishing car. Effectively the final iteration of the Veyron, it shares the same 8.0-litre, 16-cylinder engine, but with larger turbos and bigger intercoolers to push power to 1,183bhp, a jump of 196bhp. Torque increases from 921lb ft to 1106lb ft.

It's lighter than the standard Veyron, too: that black'n'orange skin is constructed solely from carbon fibre, saving around 50kg. The Super Sport gets stiffer suspension, aiding high-speed stability and allowing lateral acceleration of 1.4g. Good work if you've spotted the new NACA ducts and reworked double diffuser.

The Super Sport will hit 62mph in the same 2.5 seconds as the standard Veyron (and never was such an adjective less appropriate), but its 0-124mph and 0-186mph times are reduced to 7.3 seconds and 15.0 seconds. 124mph in just over seven seconds. Yowch.

On the Ehra-Lessien test track, the Super Sports hit 427.933km/h (265.96mph) on its upwind run, before reaching 434.211km/h (269.86mph) on the return leg.

Ferrari Italia 458

The Ferrari Italia 458, launched at the IAA Frankfurt Motor Show 2009, is an 8-cylinder two-seater berlinetta with a mid-rear mounted engine, and represents a genuine break with the past in terms of Maranello's previous high-performance sports cars. Designed to fulfil the expectations and abitions of our most passionate clients, the 458 Italia continues the Ferrari tradition of putting the thrill into driving as a result of track-derived technological innovations.

Maranello's racing experience can be felt not only in terms of pure technological transfer but also on a more emotional level, because of the strong emphasis on creating an almost symbiotic relationship between driver and car.
